Web Spam and Spammy Re-Spun Article Sites
I have seen an increase in the number of spammy made for Adsense content sites which will eventually die! They will die due to a lack of user interest, or they will eventually be filtered out!
What Are Spammy Article Websites?
Spammy Article Websites are composed of spun PLR articles which sound good while reading them, but do not provide any enlightenment whatsoever!
Webmasters purchase PLR (Private Label Rights) articles then use spinning/rewriting software to spin the articles into a piece of so called original content by re-arranging the words within the article.
This type of content creation has been called Search Engine Bait.
To a search engine, the articles appear to be keyword rich original content which quickly achieves high search engine rankings and get clicks from the SERPS. However, the articles on these web spam sites leave the reader no more informed than before reading the article.
The idea behind this Black Hat SEO tactic is to get visitors to a page from a Search Engine Result Page, and hope that visitors will click on an Adsense Ad before reading the article.
The webmasters of these sites do not appear to care if the visitor is informed by the article, or if they ever come back.
NOTE - There is nothing wrong with using PLR articles as long as you edit and rewrite them adding your own insight and personality into the articles.
The Internet is cluttered with Millions of pages of useless content which has to be filtered out. Sooner or later the pages get reported and presto, they get banned.
The Solution?
Put some thought into the content you create by thinking about the reader rather than yourself and what you will get out of it. You are creating content for Humans, not Search Engines.
If your content is useful, there is a fair chance that people will naturally want link to your content without you having to beg for a backlink.
Here is a little video I found which hopefully explains the concept of useful content ..

So What is the Meta Description Tag?
The Meta Description Tag can be used on each unique web page that you control. It is placed above the Tag within in the of your HTML document. By itself, it looks like this:
Meta Description Tag Code
<meta name=”description” content=”YOUR Description of the Page” />
You don’t need a Meta Description Generator! All you need to do is copy and paste the code above into your document and change YOUR Description of the Page with your own text.
And here is what the Meta Description Tag looks like above the TITLE Tag within the HEAD Tag:
How To Add The Meta Description Tag To Your Page
Add the Meta Description Tag above the TITLE Tag in-between the HEAD tags like this:
<head>
<meta name=”description” content=”YOUR Description of the Page” />
<title>YOUR Page Title Goes Here</title>
</head>
The Meta Description is Your Advertisement
The Meta Description is often displayed by Search Engines within the SERPS after a search is performed. What this means is that the Meta Description Tag should be used to write a short compelling and exciting advertisement for that page (Not Your Entire Website!).
A sample SERP:
Contrary to popular belief, the Meta Description and Meta Keyword Tags are not used by Google when calculating relevance, but they do sometimes use it within their Search Engine Results Pages. Having said that, there are many other Search Engines which probably still use it to calculate relevance.
You will notice when viewing a SERP that the keywords you just searched are bolded within the Meta Description. This can often play an important part in increasing click-through rates.
Therefore, even though the Meta Description Tag is not an important factor when it comes to actual SEO, it can be an important part of the On-Page Optimization process depending on your website content and the key phrases you are targeting.
Improve Click-Through Rates from the SERPS
Treat the content of the Meta Description Tag as your advertisement to drive traffic from the SERPS to your pages. Next time you are using a search engine, pay attention to what causes you to click a particular result. Use this insight to craft your own compelling advertisement.
This is just as important as if you were writing a PPC ad which costs you money! The better the ad, the better will be your click-through rates.
Tips For Meta Description Usage
Make Each Page Unique – The content of the Meta Description Tag should be unique to each page on your website. If the Meta Description is the same on all your pages, people could think that all your pages contain exactly the same information and thus will not click-through.
Don’t Use “Quotes” – If “quotes” are used within the Meta Description, the description will be cut of by certain engines. Play it safe and use only alpha-numeric characters.
No Spamming – Make sure that the content of your Meta Description also exists in the body of your page as real content. Don’t trick people by placing irrelevant content into the Meta Description which does not match the content of your page.
Not only does this practice piss people off (inclding myself), it has been known to get pages penalized by certain search engines because it is considered spam. Play it safe and make sure whatever content is within the Meta Description also exists on the page as well.
Meta Description Tag Length – Most search engines do not display more than 160 characters within the SERPS. Therefore the length of this Tag should be no longer than 160 characters.
You can use as little or as many characters as you like, but what’s the point if no more than 160 characters gets displayed. I have heard other recommendations for length such as 175 characters, but as a general rule, I stick with 160 max.
The Meta Description Tag Is Not Really Required
Search Engines can also pull relevant content from your pages and display that content within the SERPS and the searched keywords will be bolded as usual.
Webmasters and Internet Marketers who are targeting short specific keywords and phrases generally use the Meta Description Tag on their pages, while others who have lot’s of content such as a blog, or an article site tend to leave it up to the search engines to scrape the long tail keywords from the page.

The Two Most Common Meanings for SEO
- Search Engine Optimization
- Search Engine Optimizer
Both meanings involve the art of getting more Free traffic to your website pages by getting higher placements in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPS).
Well that’s the simple way to define SEO. It’s really all about getting Free traffic to your website. Now we will take a closer look at SEO by breaking down the various factors which are important for higher search engine placement.
The 2 Part SEO Equation
There are two parts to the SEO Equation:
- On Page Optimization
- Off Page Optimization
On Page Optimization and Off Page Optimization represent 100% of the SEO Equation with Off Page Optimization representing about 90% of this equation. This is because Off Page Optimization requires continuous effort else you could lose your search engine positions to somebody who is putting in more effort than you are.
On Page Optimization
On Page Optimization (Also known as On Site Optimization) is all about your website pages and how they are constructed. On Page Optimization considers such factors as:
- Selecting the right keywords and keyword phrases.
- Crafting your chosen keywords within the Meta Data of your pages.
- Placing your chosen keywords within certain parts of your content.
- The correct use of Headings within your content.
- Website Structure and how pages are linked together.
- The correct use of hyperlinks and Anchor Text.
- The Use Of Site Maps
Correct On Page Optimization tells search engines what your pages are about. As long as the search engine spiders can crawl your pages and figure out what the pages are about, the pages will be indexed for specific keywords and phrases.
But On Page Optimization alone does not guarantee top search engine placement. Diligent Off Page Optimization is also required to rank well for competitive keywords and phrases.
Off Page Optimization
Off Page Optimization (Also known as Off Site Optimization) is the act of getting backlinks to your website from other websites. This is because backlinks from other websites are perceived as votes for your website.
Ways of getting quality backlinks to your pages include:
- Blog Commenting
- Forum Marketing
- Article Marketing
- Creating Feeder Pages
- Creating Pages on Authority Blogs
- Directory Listings
- Social Bookmarking
- Affiliate Marketing
- Link Exchanges
Quality Backlinks
Backlinks are more valuable when the pages that link to your pages are related to the content on your pages. For example, if your site is about Doll Houses, the page that links to you will be considered much more valuable if it also contains information about Doll Houses.
The reputation of the website that links to your pages is also an important factor. For example, an established website several years old is considered more of an authority that some site which was registered yesterday.
In addition, backlinks from well established Educational .edu, Government .gov and Organization .org websites are considered much more valuable again because of the authority nature of the website.
What this means is that a single well placed backlink to your page from a related authority site can yield better results than hundreds of low quality backlinks from less important websites.
Look Natural
Don’t go around only getting links from .edu, .gov, and .org websites because it looks suspicious. Go for links from all types of related websites but make sure you include links from these important Authority sites.
